Ptero Fun!

Our Natural History Museum is way cooler than I thought it would be.  I spent nearly two hours with these guys and did not even get to see all of the other cool stuff!  I must go back!  I apologize for not using proper binomial nomenclature with capitalizing the species.  That's embarrassing.  The big skull reaching across the back was the length of TWO of me. Just the skull.  My favorite was Mr. Baleen though.

Some old, some new, some musical!

Wow, I completely skipped over some sketches here I think!  Below are some older sketches, but the volleyball and music ones are relatively new.  Since visiting Monterey I have been on a art hiatus, so I feel the dustiness in my fingers and reflexes.  The musicians were at Beach Day and Review where Mrs. Beach held a backyard concert open to friends and the neighborhood.  What a wonderful lady! All the musicians were lovely, and it was nice to sit in hay and listen to some bluegrass, poetry, and barbershop singing. The cellist is also my cello teacher and friend, and this drawing completes my "set" of The Real Deal (that are now called Cisco and the Race Cars).  The proportions on the cello are totally off - which drives me nuts, but that's the curse of drawing in pen!
